Hi, I’m Laura.

I’m a mum of two, a movement lover, and an APPI-trained Pilates instructor who believes Pilates should feel achievable — not intimidating.

I initially trained as a physiotherapist, graduating in 2011. I started my Pilates training, with APPI, (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) in 2012. I began teaching because I realised Pilates can benefit so many people in many different ways. I teach modified Pilates exercises, in line with the APPI method. This means I am able to break exercises down to a suitable starting level for everyone, so they can be performed correctly and then we build from there. This is different to a larger class where there is less time for 1:1 feedback, coaching and adaptations. I aim to build confidence, and make your body feel stronger with every session.

My teaching style

  • Supportive

  • Calm and encouraging

  • APPI-based, modified Pilates

  • Perfect for beginners and busy mums

  • Focused on form, breath and feeling good

If you’ve ever felt too unfit, too stiff, or too busy to start Pilates — I’ve built this space for you.

All of my Pilates training has been with APPI. They’re methods, and extensive research into modified pilates is something I truly believe in, it allows the classical pilates exercises, as developed by Joseph Pilates, to be accessible to all. Often the original or classical exercise are based around huge movements, lifting straightened arms or legs which can put more pressure through the body meaning that often the body compensates and the exercise is not undertaken correctly. By adapting the exercises, and ensuring all participants have a thorough understanding of the basic, the correct muscles and techniques can be used. Once the basics are mastered they can be built upon, this is the progression we aim for during the sessions.
